Botox
Botox offers a natural, non-surgical way to control facial tics,
involuntary blinking and to relax facial muscles to create smoother
skin around the eyes and forehead.
Dr.
Szeinfeld has successfully used Botox for head and neck pain when
dealing with tension headaches and migraines that result from muscle
spasms. Botox blocks nerve impulses so that muscles relax. Once
specific muscles are relaxed, many headaches decrease in frequency
and intensity or disappear.
Treatment
takes only minutes and patients can resume normal activity immediately.
Traditionally, in less than a week, results are obvious. Although
initial injections last for periods of 3-4 months in the first year
of treatment, most patients can anticipate 4-6 month durations afterward.
